Oahkosh. THE fly-in, gathering, trade show, air show. Whatever Oshkosh is the rest of the year, Airventure Oshkosh is the largest aviation event in the world. And it starts on Monday, July 23.
The grounds are ready. The parking is better. There hasn't been any rain, so it's easy to get around, and everyone flying in, is getting in.
There are a few changes to the floorplan -- look for your favorite exhibitors nearby, if they seem to have disappeared -- but the overall experience will be more convenient than ever before, and they've had a lot of refinement over the years.
As one thirty-something said of her family's annual pilgrimage to Airventure, "We've been coming to Oshkosh since it was in Rockford."
