Duke Engines fuel flexibility provides the catalyst for serious aviation industry interest.
Duke Engines - www.dukeengines.com - is an engine technology development company, based in Auckland, New Zealand, which has developed a novel axial piston engine, which runs on light and heavyfuels/jet fuel/bio fuels/kerosene, etc. and is potentially ideally suited for generators, UAV, APU and light aircraft applications. The engine is much lighter, smaller (cylindrical shape), simpler (no valves/camshafts etc.) and has very low vibrations.

EAA 2011 was the first time the technology developed by Duke Engines was exposed publically. The engine package displayed – an engine projected to deliver 180hp @ 6250 rpm or 103hp @ 3,300 rpm while weighing 100 lbs was greeted with much enthusiasm by the visitors to Oshkosh. The engine package is again on display at the New Zealand pavilion in 2012 at site 406 and continues to create considerable interest.

Such was the enthusiasm from 2011, that Duke embarked on discussions with most of the major aviation engine manufacturers. Duke also connected with appropriately sized defence, aviation and UAV/UAS/APU etc specifiers, and users to ascertain the specifications for specific Duke engines for a specific task for their platform/s. Duke is now in ongoing discussions with most of the key aviation and defence players in the US.

Duke’s technology is seen as an enabling technology, and as a results of their marketing endeavours, has gained an international development partner - a Tier 1 engine supplier in the US, which provides the engine development and productionisation technology to support Duke. Duke has also made significant inroads in the US aviation and defence markets – and are in the process of preparing formal Agreements to explore Duke technology for several different market opportunities with 2 different major US International companies.

Duke has now also set up a company in the US and is looking for suitable investors into this company.
