A Year in the Making, Lockwood.Aero Has Many Innovative Features
Sebring, FLORIDA / July 23, 2012 - Scheduled for official launch during AirVenture Oshkosh 2012, the completely new website for Lockwood Aviation brings a large number of innovations to make for easier shopping for Rotax parts and more.
"More than 3,500 of the parts and supplies that Lockwood carries are now on-line," noted John Hurst, Director of Sales and Technology for Lockwood Aviation Supply. "We have more than 2,000 photos including engine & airframe parts, tools, and supplies. You can completely configure and purchase Rotax Aircraft engines on-line including the new 912iS."
Perhaps the new website's most impressive feature are more than 100 zoomable Rotax Aircraft Engine sub assembly drawings, which allows visitors to order directly from the drawing page.
Lockwood.aero has real-time inventory online. "Shoppers can know what we have in stock before they order," added Hurst. "New products and photos are being added daily as the new website continues its development." A substitute database automatically suggests alternatives for discontinued, or out of stock parts.
Other resources include:
o A support page
o Eastern US Repair Center Directory
o Blog
o Manuals, and FAQ pages for Rotax Powered Aircraft
o Real-time order status and delivery tracking
"Many more improvements to come including more delivery options, additional product details, and additional product categories," promised Hurst.
The new Lockwood.aero website has been intensively developed for more than one year. Production was directed by Hurst, a pilot and maintainer very familiar with Rotax engines. He is also active with ASTM committees helping to develop standards for Light Sport Aircraft production. John used feedback from pilots and maintainers; the website was designed by pilots and maintainers for pilots and maintainers.
